LAPEER TOWNSHIP

Planning today for a better tomorrow

Where you buy your holiday gifts determines how much revenue sharing our Township will receive. This is the Township share of revenue to support Township functions as our share of the sales tax collected. Buying locally helps local government in two different ways.

  1. Local merchants pay property taxes that support the local community.
  2. The sales taxes that you pay on your purchases are also returned to our community in the form of constitutional revenue sharing.

If you purchase items online, none of that money is returned to local governments. Even if you pay online sales taxes on your purchases, that money stays with the state. So - shop and buy local !
